Photography has changed the way that I appreciate light and I love to explore that. But it is the quality of light that will get me. Capturing an distinctive image to me is often as satisfying as riding a powder line on a mountain or surfing a fun wave for the first time. I guess that's why I'll keep shooting forever... What is the most satisfying part of photography for you?
"Flashback Friday. Ulamertorsuaq is one of the most impressive walls in the World. It sits on Greenland’s Tasermiut Fjord and rises 6,000 feet straight up from sea level. As someone who is somewhat afraid of heights, I could not believe that climbers from all over gather here to summit the peak. I can’t fathom the amount of dedication, mental dexterity and athleticism that it would take to accomplish this feat. Just getting to this point was a challenge and took many days of travel to arrive. It’s wild how giant peaks seem to attract and create their own weather. I enjoyed watching the clouds enshroud the giant from afar. Greenland is still probably the most “wild and untouched” place I’ve traveled. But my most favourite region in Greenland is still the South! Why? There are several reasons: I've encountered the most beautiful northern lights here 🔸Climbers call these places "Big Walls" because of stunning granite mountains like in Patagonia 🔸These places accessible only by boat - so they are super remote and unique 🔸Most charming villages of the South where locals barely seen any tourists 🔸Icebergs, glaciers, fjords, lakes and waterfalls - everything we like so much in landscape photography! Next year I am chartering a beautiful schooner for my expeditions to South Greenland. It will be a comfortable moving home for our 10 days in Greenland, where we can charge batteries, have a shower, warm up and have a nice meal from our chef. Every summer I have the chance of meeting great rock climbers in Tasermiut fjord, South Greenland. This time I had the pleasure of knowing federica_mingolla and saccaedo who were there on a big wall opening mission. Mission accomplished with "La Cura" on Nalumesortoq. Well done guys ! Now it's our turn with partner nathan_goffart to scale big walls in Yosemite valley, USA. I think this trip will be a good kick in the nuts ahahah! Those walls look hard... But we're super excited !! “This arch was about 30m (98ft) tall. That’s considered small for Greenland 🇬🇱 We’ve been on the very southern tip of the country were not many icebergs are. On the next day we watched it breaking apart. As icebergs melt, they leak nutrients into the ocean around them. Water surrounding icebergs teems with plankton, fish, and other sea life.
