Local Greenland’s Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is at the core of everything we do at Local Greenland. As a locally rooted company in South Greenland, we are committed to preserving our environment, celebrating our cultural heritage, and supporting our communities. Our approach aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring a responsible and lasting impact.
Our Sustainability Journey
From November to December 2024, we, Freddy Christensen and Salik Parbst Frederiksen, completed the GSTC Sustainable Tourism Course, arranged by Innovation South Greenland. This certification strengthened our understanding of sustainable tourism and inspired the development of our sustainability policy.
Our Commitment
- Environmental Responsibility: We minimize waste, reduce emissions, and promote conservation efforts.
- Cultural & Community Support: We collaborate with local initiatives, support Greenlandic artisans, and integrate cultural heritage into our experiences.
- Economic Sustainability: We prioritize local sourcing and partnerships to ensure tourism benefits our communities.
- Quality & Guest Experience: We educate guests on responsible tourism and continuously improve based on feedback.
- Accountability: We provide staff training, track sustainability efforts, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Looking Ahead
Our Sustainability Policy will be reviewed annually to adapt to new challenges and opportunities. Join us in making a positive impact; one adventure at a time.
